What is the Matter of Gyanvapi Mosque

In the Gyanvapi Mosque, a ShivLing was found while the Court's mandatory video recording survey was going on. The Varanasi court ordered the sealing of that particular spot. However, the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid committee is looking forward to challenging this order of the Varanasi court in the Supreme Court. According to this committee, that object was a part of a fountain.

A brief study of the Gyanvapi Mosque case:

The plea was raised by five women who wanted to seek permission from the Court to pray every day at the Maa Shringar Gauri Sthal at the wall outside of the mosque complex.

The Civil Judge (senior division) gave the order to seal the place where the Shivling was found. The responsibility was given to the police and the CRPF commandants of Varanasi.

Arguments of the Parties:

The Advocate from the side of the five women seeking to pray argued that the Shivling was found inside the Mosque.

The Court ordered a survey that would submit its report on May 17th, 2021. However, the survey report was submitted on May 16th, 2021. After going through the Video recorded survey, the Varanasi court immediately ordered to seal off the area where the Shivling was found.

The order of the Court stated that only twenty Muslims should be allowed to enter the Court, and they are not allowed to perform Wudu (ablution).

The General Secretary of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, S M Yasin, has mentioned that they will challenge the Varanasi court's order through a writ petition in the Supreme Court. It is a part of the fountain in the Mosque. According to S M Yasin, the order was passed by the Court in a hurry, and they're going to mention this to the Supreme Court.

The Gyanvapi Mosque case is undoubtedly taking some critical turns. It would be essential to wait for the judgment of the Court of law. Meanwhile, UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has shown his support for the order of the Court through his tweet.
